An Analysis of Gun Control Proponents

This article is intended for those who are pro-gun, so that we might better understand the thoughts and motivations of gun control proponents. It is not intended to explain why the anti-gun position is wrong- I have other articles that do that. In studying anti-gun individuals, I have determined that they all fit into at least one of three groups, and sometimes multiple groups. They are as follows:
1. Ignorant - The first group is simply ignorant of the facts, which is not surprising given the misinformation peddled by the mainstream media. These people can often be educated and turned to our side through the use of facts, statistics, and the application of logic. I would estimate that probably 50% of those who promote gun control fall into this category. They truly believe that more laws can control the behavior of evil people, and they have fallen for media-peddled myth that guns are not used defensively, and that they do not reduce violent crime. This category is where people often fall who hear about a mass shooting, are emotionally affected, and want to 'do something' based on their knee jerk emotional response but who don't research the issues or study the facts and statistics before taking a position. It is often very easy to identify these people by simply asking questions, pointing out the facts and statistics, and allowing them to recognize the errors in the logic of their position. Most of these people are completely ignorant of history, and how something as innocuous as 'background checks' have led to gun registration, which led to confiscation, which ultimately led to democide. Any honest and intelligent person who is not unreasonably stubborn will realize their error and back off of their gun control position when confronted with the facts. Those who are more emotionally motivated might be able to be swayed by asking them to consider putting themselves in the shoes of a potential victim- sitting in a theater, or on a campus, in a mall, or even in their own home where some madman bent on evil (already breaking law after law) starts attacking and killing people - perhaps with a firearm, a knife, a vehicle, or any one of thousands of other methods. The only tool that might prevent the murder of themselves or their loved ones is the presence of a firearm - the great equalizer. The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun (or often any other weapon) is a good guy with a gun. Even the most ardent anti-gun atheists in that situation will be praying for a good guy with a gun to appear on the scene as quickly as possible and put a stop to the carnage.
2. Stupid - The second group has been shown the facts and statistics, but they lack the logical faculties to comprehend those facts and thus stick to their initial misguided premise. These people are more dangerous than the first group, because they often dig in their heels and fall back on emotion, rather than attempt to comprehend the facts and use logic in their analysis. Keep in mind that this category includes not just those who don't have the intelligence for rational analysis of the facts, but also those who may have the intelligence, but stubbornly refuse to consider those facts. Such a refusal is tantamount to sticking one's head in the sand and pretending that they live in a world without evil. I would estimate that perhaps 30% of those who promote gun control fall into this category.
3. Evil - The first two groups above fall into to the "useful idiots" category, as Lenin is rumored to have called them, and are simply being used by the leftist zealots in group 3 to further their cause. It's those in this third group that are the most dangerous, by far. Fortunately, they are the smallest of the three groups, at around 20%. They often fully understand the facts and statistics, and they know that guns do in fact save lives, reduce violent crime, and serve as the great equalizer between the weak and the strong, the oppressed and the oppressors, and are the mechanism by which slaves can throw off their chains and obtain freedom. It's for this reason that they cannot abide the concept of an armed citizenry. The founders specifically codified "the right of the people to keep and bear arms" in the Bill of Rights, as they explained, specifically for the purpose of preventing government from taking actions that may endanger the rights and freedoms of the people. Noah Webster explained that "Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed... The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops." Today, there is a segment of society, particularly of the left, that are elitists- they do not believe in freedom, rights, or equal opportunity. They sincerely believe that they are smarter and more deserving than the rest of us. They believe that they know what is best for society, and how best to run our lives. They typically believe in strong government control, and they believe they should be the only ones with that power. They believe in a monopoly of force, and they do not allow for dissenting opinions. A few recent well-known examples include Vladamir Lenin, Joseph Stalin, Adolph Hitler, Mao Tse Tung, and Franklin Roosevelt. In modern America, some examples of this are Dianne Feinstein, Janet Reno, Michael Bloomberg, George Soros, and many members of groups such as the communist "AntiFa." Those who know history, know that the greatest man-made threat to fellow man is democide, or murder by one's government, with an estimated quarter of a billion victims in the 20th century alone - far more than all wars, homicides, and suicides combined. Many of those victims were killed (or allowed to be killed) on orders of some of those individuals listed above. The prerequisite to their horrific acts was, of course, gun control. These people have no problem lying and manipulating others to reach their ultimate goal of total power and control over the lives of their fellow man. The best way to counter these people is to call them out for what they are- evil.
As you watch gun control proponents, if you can determine what category they fall into, you'll know what you're dealing with, and how best to counter them. There are many videos out there that include interviews with gun control proponents. You'll find that most of the people 'in the crowd' belong to one of the first two groups, and are unknowingly serving as the 'foot soldiers' of the dangerous third group. Here is one such video:
